I began practicing yoga during my undergraduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1998 with Ashtanga teacher Valerie Jeremijenko. After graduating and moving to New York City, I practiced at many different studios experiencing styles such as Vinyasa and Anusara. During my graduate studies at the National College of Natural Medicine, I completed a 200 hour Hatha teacher training in 2011 at the Bhaktishop in Portland, Oregon. I wanted to deepen my own practice as well as study more intensely with my teacher Uma Diana Hulet who co-founded the Bhaktishop. From Diana, I learned many invaluable lessons about asanas, pranayama (breath work) and meditation. She also inspired me to learn to play the harmonium which I use in many of my classes.  Each class I teach focuses on physiology and anatomy as well as mindfulness practices and pranayama. I hope to create a therapeutic practice which aligns body, mind and spirit.
